How ReceiptSnap works from scan to split
Receipt Snap focuses on one workflow: scan a receipt, review extracted items, assign each item to one or more people, and see what everyone owes.
1. Upload your receipt
Use your phone camera or upload an existing image. The best results come from clear, evenly lit photos where the full receipt is visible.
2. OCR reads items and totals
ReceiptSnap reads printed text and extracts line items, quantities, and prices. It also detects summary values like subtotal and total when they are visible.
OCR can make mistakes on blurry, faded, or highly distorted receipts, so review is always recommended before finalizing a split.
3. Assign items to people
Choose either a personal share view or a group assignment view. You can assign individual items to one person or split shared items among multiple people.
4. Review totals and settle
ReceiptSnap calculates each person's amount from assigned items. Confirm totals against the physical receipt, then share or settle using your preferred payment method.
Privacy note
ReceiptSnap currently processes receipts for scanning and splitting only. It does not maintain a permanent receipt history.
